Creating A Research Paper Proposal – 7 Things To Consider

When you are in the process of creating a research paper proposal you have to follow certain guidelines to get it right. Otherwise you will struggle and that will ultimately lead to a poor quality grade. Therefore, read on for 7 different rules that you have to consider if you want to get your research paper proposal correct.

  1. Title: you have to propose the title that you are going to be working on, and if you want success then this has to be carefully considered. The best type of titles are those that have been chosen with uniqueness in mind. If you select one that has been done many times before then it will not go down well with the examiners.

  2. Examples: if you want to get a good idea of what a proposal looks like then you have to check out some high quality proposals that have been completed by other students. These are located in directories or alternatively you can visit your professor to get them.

  3. Light reading: you don’t have to a very large amount of research for this type of project, but you do need some light reading. It will ensure that you are able to create a few paragraphs that provide some background info on the topic you will be working on.

  4. Thesis statement: make sure that to write a thesis statement for the proposal. It will tell the examiners exactly what the project will be about. This statement must be clear and to the point. If you have never written one before then take a peek at example projects to find out what this looks like.

  5. Proofread: the proposal has to be written well and with that in mind ensure that you conduct a proofreading session. Hire someone to do this if you don’t have the skills.

  6. Definitions: if there are definitions that you use in your proposal then ensure that you give an explanation of what they are. These don’t have to be in depth, but have to do the job of allowing people to understand what they are.

  7. Make a case: a case has to be made for why the project is a good idea. Otherwise a pass might not be granted for the proposal.
